I finally admit that swamp coolers beat refrigerated air here
For years I swore I needed a real AC unit because everyone on my block in the North Valley kept saying swamp coolers were useless after June. Then my buddy let me crash at his place near Tramway for a week last July while my kitchen got torn apart, and his swamp cooler kept the house at 74 degrees the whole time for way less money. The thing nobody mentions is that our dry heat is exactly what makes them work, and the folks complaining are usually running theirs with the windows shut. Anyone else made the switch, and did you keep both systems or just go all in on the cooler?
