I finally figured out why my swamp cooler pads kept clogging every 2 weeks
Kept replacing the aspen pads on my roof unit out here in the heights every 2 weeks because they'd turn into a solid white crust, and I blamed the pads, the pump, everything but the water. Turns out our water is so hard that the calcium just cakes up on the pad in days, so I put one of those inline hose filters on the bleed line for about $25 and got a full 3 months out of the last set. Anybody else out here running a filter on their cooler, or are you just swapping pads like I was?
