I picked rigid foam over spray foam and I don't regret it
Everyone in my neighborhood group swore by spray foam for the garage addition. I went with 2 inch rigid foam boards instead, about $900 for the whole project. Spray foam quotes came in around $2,400 and that was just for labor. The rigid foam took me a weekend to cut and seal with tape, but I knew every seam was done right. Three summers with 110 degree days and my garage stays ten degrees cooler than my neighbor's spray foam job. Has anyone else gone with boards and felt like the naysayers just wanted the flashy option?

Hey, but foam boards have way less R-value per inch than spray foam.
