My brother in law said skip the permit for my Nob Hill garage conversion and that was the worst advice I have gotten in a while
He told me in March that nobody pulls permits for a detached garage conversion in Nob Hill and I would just be wasting $600 and 3 weeks of my time. Well, an inspector drove by in June and now I am paying a $450 fine plus the same permit fee anyway, and the city is making me tear out the half bath I put in. For those of you who have gone back and pulled a permit after the work was already done, how bad was the inspection?
