My contractor buddy called me out on using the wrong grout for our bathroom tile

I was about to seal up the shower in my house near Old Town and he stopped me mid pour. Said I was using unsanded grout on 1/8 inch joints and it would crack within a month. Switched to sanded grout from Sherwin Williams on Lomas and it went in way smoother. Anyone else had a pro catch something that seemed minor but saved your whole project?

Sanded grout holds up way better in those tight joints...

Getting good reccomendations from someone who actually knows what theyre doing is huge. I did a backsplash last year and my friend who does tile work caught me about to use a cheap grout from Home Depot that would have stained like crazy, ended up getting the same stuff you mentioned and it looked perfect. Total lifesaver having someone whos done it before look over your shoulder. The difference in how smooth it goes in is night and day honestly.
