My plumber told me to flush the water heater yearly and I ignored him for 3 years
Bought a house off Lomas back in 2021 and the plumber doing the inspection said to drain the water heater every 12 months. I figured he was just trying to sell me maintenance so I never did it. Last week the element went out and it cost me $350 to fix. Has anyone else had a repair that could have been avoided by just listening to the pro?[critic]

Yeah man that changed my mind too. Plumbers aren't always just trying to upsell you.

Bet my neighbor the same thing happened to him with his furnace filter. Guy kept telling me to change it every few months and I figured he was just being dramatic. Three years later that thing was so clogged the unit actually froze up in January. Cost me a pretty penny to get it sorted. These pros might be annoying but they usually know what they're talking about.
