My tile guy told me I was spacing wrong
I had been using 1/4 inch spacers on my bathroom floor tile because that's what I saw on YouTube. He said for Albuquerque's climate and the specific tile I bought, I needed 3/16 inch gaps to avoid cracking in the dry heat. Has anyone else gotten conflicting advice from online tutorials versus actual local pros?

YouTube told me to use grout the consistency of peanut butter and my first batch came out looking like chunky cement... Google doesn't have to live with your cracked floor, your tile guy does. At least you found out during the spacer stage instead of after everything set and started popping loose in the summer heat. I swear half these online tutorials are filmed in some perfect climate where humidity and temperature don't exist. Local pros have to deal with your actual house, not some studio with perfect conditions.
