The tile guy in my Rio Rancho kitchen said 'that's not a subfloor, that's a suggestion'
He was right, the old particleboard under my vinyl was mush. I ended up tearing it all out and putting down 3/4 inch plywood before we could even start laying the new stuff. Anyone have a good local source for Advantech subfloor panels?

My buddy in Corrales had the same thing. His floor felt like a trampoline over by the fridge. He found some Advantech at Builders Source over on Alameda, but he had to call ahead to check their stock. Said it was worth the trip though, stuff is really solid.

Totally agree about Advantech. That stuff is no joke. My uncle used it when he fixed up his old place and said it made a huge difference. Way better than the cheap plywood that was there before. It just feels solid under your feet. Did your buddy have to do the whole kitchen or just a section?
