Found a working Zip drive at Goodwill in Spokane, and now I'm sad

I spotted a 100MB Zip drive with two disks for $8 at the Spokane Goodwill last Tuesday, but my current laptop has no parallel port, so what's the point of grabbing it even if it still works, and has anyone else run into a good old piece of tech they couldn't actually use?
