My old iPod classic finally gave up after 14 years of daily use
Last Tuesday I plugged it in to charge and it just showed the sad folder icon. Tried everything - reset, firewire disk mode, even smacked it a few times. Nothing. That thing survived two moves, a coffee spill in 2011, and got me through countless bus rides. Still had 3,000 songs on it I haven't thought about in years. Anyone else got a device that just went silent one day and you weren't ready for it?

Tbh that sad folder icon hit me hard when my 2007 Zune bricked with no warning.

My Zune lasted exactly one year before it decided to take a permanent vacation. Still have that sad folder image burned into my memory like a bad breakup. Guess my loyalty to Microsoft products was never meant to be rewarded.
