My Palm Pilot from 2002 just saved my butt in a hospital waiting room
Went to my mom's surgery consult last week and the wifi in the waiting area was totally dead. Everyone else was stuck staring at walls cause their phones had no signal either. I pulled out my old Palm m125 with the grayscale screen that I keep charged for nostalgia. Took me 20 minutes to remember how to use Graffiti writing again but I beat my high score in Bejeweled and read 3 chapters of an ebook on it. Anyone else still carry a PDA that's older than half the nurses working there?

Honestly I think you're romanticizing the whole thing. That old Palm did nothing that a $10 notepad and a paperback book couldn't have done just as well. You spent 20 minutes fighting with Graffiti and probably missed half of what the doctor said because you were fiddling with a museum piece. The hospital waiting room is already stressful enough without adding a dead gadget to the mix. I get the nostalgia kick, but keeping something that old charged and functional is just extra weight in your bag for zero real benefit. If the wifi had worked, you would have just been checking the same dumb stuff on your phone anyway.
