My Windows XP tower from 2003 finally died last week and honestly the whole thing was my own fault

So my old Dell tower that I keep in the closet for playing old games and burning CDs finally gave up the ghost last Tuesday, and I am still mad at myself about it. This thing survived 20 plus years of me moving it between 4 different apartments, and what kills it? Me leaving it on for 3 straight days trying to rip my old CD collection to MP3s without a case fan spinning. I did not even notice the fan bearing had seized up until I smelled that hot plastic smell from the hallway. Popped the side panel off and the CPU heatsink was so caked in dust it looked like dryer lint. I know everyone says old PCs are junk and you should just emulate everything, but I disagree hard on that one. There is stuff on that hard drive I cannot get back, like my dad's voicemails saved as wav files and a half finished RPG Maker game from 2006. I pulled the drive out and it still spins up so at least I have that, but the board is toast. Anyone got a trick for reviving a dead motherboard or should I just start hunting eBay for a replacement socket 478 board?
