That friend who told me to ditch my CRT monitor finally got me thinking
I was showing my buddy my old Compaq monitor from 1997 and he asked why I still keep it around. Said it takes up half my desk and the colors are probably way off by now. At first I got defensive but then I realized he had a point. I haven't actually turned that thing on in like 3 years. Anyone else have a piece of old tech they're holding onto for no real reason?

My Compaq CRT is still in my garage on a dolly, which makes it the world's most inefficient doorstop. I swear every time I walk past it I trip over the power cord I refuse to cut off because maybe I'll hook it up again someday. Last week I actually considered dragging it out to play some old DOS games but then realized I'd need a chiropractor on speed dial after lifting it. Why do we do this to ourselves? Is it guilt or just laziness dressed up as "retro appreciation"?

Three years just sitting there collecting dust is wild lol. I guess the nostalgia factor wears off quick when you realize it's basically a heavy paperweight at that point. Maybe it's time to accept your buddy had a point and free up that desk space.
