The day I fired up my 2003 CRT and noticed the input lag difference on modern games

I dug my old Sony Trinitron out of the garage last weekend after seeing a post about retro gaming on it. Hooked up my PS2 to it and played for about 2 hours, then switched back to my flat screen. The difference in response time is NIGHT and day, especially on rhythm games like DDR where timing matters. But at the same time, the old screen hurt my eyes after 30 minutes and the geometry is all wobbly. So is the input lag on modern TVs really that bad, or are we just nostalgic for what we grew up with? Anyone else done a side by side test and actually measured the ms difference, or tried one of those newer low-lag gaming monitors instead?

Dude that wobble is so real, but honestly CRT response just hits different for rhythm games.
