The old CRT repair guy who fixed my monitor for free
Back in 2017 I dragged a busted 2005 ViewSonic into a tiny shop near Columbus, expecting a big bill, and this retired guy just opened the back, tapped a capacitor, and handed it back saying "these things never die, people just give up on them." He refused my 40 bucks and told me to keep using it until it actually quits. Now I'm sitting here with a 19-inch CRT that still works perfect, so who else has a tech they keep alive out of pure stubbornness?
