Choosing between a new control board or just the relay on a Whirlpool dryer

Had a job yesterday where a dryer wouldn't heat, and the customer in Springfield wanted the cheapest fix. The main board was $120, but the heating relay on it looked okay. I pulled and tested just the relay for $15, and it was actually the thermal fuse. Replaced that for $8 and it's running perfect now. When do you guys decide to swap a whole board versus chasing the smaller parts on it?

Nice! Finding that cheap thermal fuse fix must've felt great.

But was the dryer even broken to begin with? (Sometimes they just overheat.)
