Customer watched me fix their washer then asked if I could 'just make it faster'

I was out in Phoenix last Thursday on a basic spin cycle repair, nothing fancy. Took the pump out, cleared a sock that somehow got past the lint trap, put it all back. Took maybe 40 minutes total. The lady watches me the whole time, nods, asks a few questions. Then she writes the check and goes, 'So while you're here, can you make it wash in half the time?' I laughed thinking she was joking. She wasn't. I explained the cycles are set for a reason, water needs time to soak, motor can only spin so fast without tearing the drum apart. She said, 'My old guy in Ohio used to tweak the timer for me.' I don't know what kind of back alley washer shop she was going to, but I told her I'm not touching the timer on a machine from 2019, that's how you blow a control board and then it's a $400 part plus labor. She got a little huffy and said she'd find someone else. Fine by me. Has anyone else had customers ask for performance mods on standard appliances? Like what are they expecting, a turbo button on their fridge?
