Dryer vent cleaning made a 20 minute difference on a 15 year old Whirlpool
Did a service call last Tuesday in Mesa on a Whirlpool dryer that the owner swore was dying. She said a normal load of towels ran 75 minutes and came out damp. I pulled the vent hose off the back and it was packed solid with lint, I'm talking a fist sized clump at the elbow. I ran my vent brush through the whole run to the outside flap which was also jammed shut. Same load of towels after that: 55 minutes and bone dry, and the cabinet temp dropped about 30 degrees so the thermal fuse wasn't cooking anymore. She was ready to drop $700 on a new machine over a $150 cleaning. How many of you are pulling the vent hose on every dryer call instead of just checking the filter?
