Had a customer in Tacoma tell me 'you're the first person who didn't just tell me to buy a new one' after fixing his 15-year-old dryer.

It's a sad state of affairs when basic troubleshooting is seen as a special skill. My own repair attempts usually end with me surrounded by extra screws and a deep sense of regret. That customer must have been passed around to a lot of lazy salespeople first. Good on you for actually trying to fix the thing.

Ugh, I saw an article about how companies are making stuff impossible to fix on purpose. It's so frustrating. Like they want you to just give up and buy a new one.
