Wait, but what if you're not the one who turned it off? I've seen guys get hurt because someone else, like a helper, labeled the wrong panel. Parker_hunt61 is right you should check, but I'd also add you gotta physically test the wires yourself with a meter before you touch anything.

Last year a guy on my crew got zapped because the foreman marked the wrong circuit. I don't care who says it's dead, you put your own meter on it. Test every single wire you plan to touch, and then test it again right before your hand goes near it. That extra thirty seconds is the only thing between you and a really bad day.
