Overheard a young tech call a fridge 'vintage' and it stung a little

Last Tuesday I'm swapping a condenser fan motor on a 2004 side-by-side and the homeowner's kid walks by, calls it 'vintage', asks if it's worth restoring. For me, that unit is just a workhorse from my first year running my own route in Tulsa. I got it running smooth in about 45 minutes with a $38 part and it'll probably outlast their phone. Makes me wonder, how old does a machine have to get before you guys start treating it like a classic instead of a headache? Has anyone else had a moment where a customer's throwaway comment made you feel ancient?
