Spent $160 on a thermal camera attachment, best diagnostic money yet
Got one of those FLIR phone attachments after a compressor on a fridge in a diner near Akron kept tripping the breaker. The thermal view showed the start relay housing cooking at 190F while the compressor body was cold, which pointed straight to a bad relay, not the compressor. That one fix paid for the camera because the customer was sure they needed a whole new unit and I was able to prove otherwise. Has anyone else used thermal imaging to catch issues that ohmmeters just can't show?
