Swore by contact cleaner on control boards until one bit me at a job in Tulsa
Had a dryer board acting up and hit it with spray like always, and two days later it came back with the same fault plus a sticky film pulling in dust. Turns out a $6 can of electronics cleaner can eat the conformal coating, so now I brush and vacuum first and only spray as a last step. Anyone else have a brand of cleaner that won't wreck the board?

Nothing says "fixed" like a board that comes back dirtier and madder than before. That sticky film is basically a dust magnet with a grudge, so brushing and vacuuming first makes way more sense. Conformal coating and cheap spray clearly don't mix, and the can never warns you about it.
