That one customer who saved me from burning out on a Tuesday
Last month in Columbus I was repairing a 12 year old dryer, the drum belt had snapped for the third time. The owner, an older lady named June, just watched me work and asked if I ever got tired of the same fixes. I laughed and said yeah, it gets repetitive, but then she told me her late husband used to fix that same dryer back in the 90s. She paid me $85 for the part and labor, but before I left she handed me a keychain he had made, a little metal washer with his initials stamped on it. I still carry it, it made me remember why I do this trade, not every customer sees it as just a transaction. Anyone else have a moment like that where a customer turned a boring call around?
