Unpopular opinion: I now refuse to install generic control boards.

I used to think they were a good deal for customers, but one caught fire last month. Seeing the risk firsthand made me stick to OEM parts only.

Cheap parts are a false economy.

Good call, had the same realization after a cheap board fried an entire motor. The extra cost for genuine parts is just peace of mind now.

Yeah, that "peace of mind" gets real expensive after a cheap part fails. It's the classic save a buck now, spend a hundred later move. You learn that lesson exactly once.
