Vent: My go-to shop vac lost suction after 8 years and I found a sock full of drywall dust clogging the hose

Swear it was working fine last month, but then I went to vacuum out a fridge coil on a 2016 Whirlpool and nothing happened, pulled the hose off and there was this sock sized clump of dust that must have been building up for years, has anyone else had that random clog pop up out of nowhere?

Found a dead mouse in my leaf blower tube once. Must have crawled in there last fall and I didn't notice until spring when nothing came out the other end. Pretty sure that sock is still cleaner than my blower was.

Dude, @skylergrant just gave me a new level of paranoia. Now I'm gonna have to check my leaf blower every time before I fire it up.
