Vent: spent 2 hours chasing a dead dryer only to find a tripped GFCI in the laundry room
Got called out to a place in Mesa for a dryer that wouldn't spin at all, no lights, totally dead. I pulled the whole back panel off and tested the thermal fuse and door switch before my buddy asked if I checked the outlet. Turns out the GFCI next to the laundry sink had tripped and the homeowner never noticed. Now I always stick a lamp or phone charger in the outlet before I touch a single screw. What's the dumbest thing you've overlooked on a call?
