Can we talk about how much a mulcher can change a property in just one season?

I cleared a half-acre lot in Ohio back in March that was totally overgrown with honeysuckle and briars, and the owner let me go wild with a skid steer mulcher for two days. By August the same spot had native grasses and young oaks popping up where you could barely walk before. Has anyone else seen a site completely bounce back after a good clearing, or am I just lucky with the timing?

You said "oaks popping up" but those are probably just sprouts from roots that were already there, not new trees from seed. Still, its amazing how fast mulching can turn a mess into something productive.

I've actually watched acorns sprout in my own backyard though. Had a big old oak drop a bunch a few years back and I'd see the little seedlings pop up with the cap still on top. Not saying you're wrong about the root sprouts, but new ones do come from seed too if conditions are right.
