Critique from an old-timer in Portland about my pruning cuts stung bad but fixed my whole approach
He told me I was leaving stubs on every branch and after I watched him make a clean collar cut on a 20-foot maple in under 30 seconds I went home and re-did all my last week's work.

That stub comment hit me hard too, same exact thing happened with my first pruning job.
