Just read that a single mature oak can drop over 10,000 acorns in a good year
I was looking up some stuff on tree reproduction for a client talk and saw that number on a forestry extension site. It blew my mind. I've been climbing and pruning oaks for 15 years, so I know they're productive, but ten thousand? That's wild. I tried to picture raking that many acorns from a big white oak in someone's yard. It makes total sense now why some homeowners get so mad about the mess. I always knew it was a lot, but putting an actual number to it changes how you explain the cleanup. Has anyone else had to deal with a truly insane acorn drop season, and how did you handle the client's concerns?

We had a monster white oak last year that covered a whole lawn. I showed the client photos of the tree loaded with acorns and explained it's a sign of a healthy tree, then offered a one-time deep clean service.

Smart way to handle a tough cleanup job.

Honestly, that's genius right there. Turning a headache into a selling point is exactly what I try to do with my own customers. @the_cora knows what I'm talking about - we had a similar situation with a pecan tree last fall and it worked like a charm.
