Just realized I've climbed over 1,000 trees in my career, mostly in the Pacific Northwest.

The real trick is getting the sap off without destroying your gear. Cooking oil works but it leaves a mess on your harness. @dakotaellis has the right idea about the pay though - once you hit a thousand trees you're basically a professional squirrel with better health insurance. That's a lot of Douglas firs to get through. I'd say at least half of those were probably in the PNW just based on how many trees are out there.

That's a lot of sap on your hands. I hope you got paid for all that climbing. Otherwise you're just a really dedicated squirrel.

My buddy Jake once got so sticky from a pine tree he had to use cooking oil to get free.
