Maple in a rainstorm taught me to re-check my rigging knots
Was taking down a big silver maple in a backyard in Columbus last month, soaked gloves and all. The knot on my lowering line slipped about six feet before I caught it, almost dropped a limb right through a fence. I now double-check every knot before any cut, no matter how rushed the homeowner makes me feel. Anyone else have a close call that forced a habit change?
