Question about the $180 pole pruner I got at a show in Columbus

I picked up a Silky pole pruner at the Ohio tree care show last month for about $180. Used it on a honey locust removal in Grandview and it sliced through 2 inch limbs like butter, way faster than my old manual one. But the extension pole bent on the third day when I got it pinched in a tight crotch. Has anyone else had trouble with the locking mechanism slipping on these, or did I just get a bad one?
