Shoutout to the guy who told me to use dish soap as a friction reducer on my rigging line
Tried it on a big pine removal in Spokane, ended up with a rope so slick I nearly lost control of a limb. Learned that a little bit goes a really long way, and maybe stick to the proper stuff. What's the weirdest 'field fix' you've ever seen actually work?

Ever see someone use a zip tie as a temporary pulley? Watched a guy do it once and it held just long enough to finish the cut, but man did it make me nervous. What's the closest call you've had with a backyard fix?

Man, that's the story of so many life hacks. They sound genius until you're holding a runaway rope. It's like people forget there's usually a reason for the real tools.

Read something the other day about a guy who used a carabiner from his kid's swing set as a quick rigging point. Said it worked fine for a small limb but he wouldn't trust it for anything heavy. Pretty sure that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
