Spent $180 on a hydraulic pruner attachment that snapped on the third branch

The cylinder housing cracked clean through when I was trimming a 4-inch oak limb, and the manufacturer said it wasn't covered because I used it over the rated width, so has anyone else had luck with a different brand that holds up better?

Had a similar thing happen with a different brand. The Stihl attachments hold up better if you stick to the rated sizes. Otherwise, check out the Fiskars bypass pruner - cheaper but hasn't cracked on me yet.

Yeah buddy of mine had the same problem with a cheap pole saw. He was trying to trim branches way too thick for it and the whole extension piece just snapped in half. Lucky he was standing on the ground not a ladder. He ended up borrowing my Fiskars pruner and said it felt way more solid. Still uses that thing a year later no issues.
