That moment I realized a pruning saw cut is cleaner than a lopper cut

After 3 tries on a rough Bradford pear branch, the saw left zero tear-out while the lopper mashed the bark... has anyone else noticed this messing up tree healing?

Lopper bruising invites bugs, saw cuts seal faster.

Dude yeah the "lopper bruising invites bugs" part is so true. I learned that the hard way last summer when I pruned a big branch with loppers and the whole thing got all shredded and mushy. Then a few weeks later I saw ants and sap beetles crawling all over the spot. Switched to a pruning saw after that and the cuts heal way cleaner, no bugs at all. Saw cuts really do seal faster, I've noticed the bark rolls right over them in like a month.
