Comparing two flotation methods for soil samples
I ran a side-by-side test last month with standard water flotation versus a lighter chemical solution for some charred seed remains. The chemical method pulled out way more tiny fragments that the water missed entirely. Has anyone else tried different flotation setups and seen clear differences?

Oh wow, that makes total sense. It's like how the same dirt under a regular light vs a UV light shows completely different stuff, you just don't always see what's hiding in plain sight.

Hate to be that person but UV shows oils and stains, not dirt exactly.
