My screen loupe cracked mid-cataloging and I lost a whole day's work
I was photographing a box of pottery sherds from a survey out near Boise last Tuesday when the lens on my loupe cracked right down the middle. I had not saved the notes for 40 or so pieces yet, so I sat there with a broken tool and half a drawer of stuff I could not read. I ended up putting everything back in bags and starting over the next morning with a spare from the lab. What do you all use to back up your field notes when a tool gives out like that?
