Tried using a drone to map a small dig site in Arizona and the wind almost took it for good

Almost took it for good is right. I lost my first drone to a gust over a lake, looked like a seagull having a seizure on its way down. My wallet still hasn't forgiven me. Arizona wind is no joke, it comes out of nowhere. Glad you managed to keep yours from becoming permanent desert art.

Right, like @stellat87 said, Arizona wind is basically a bully with a grudge. My buddy mapped a site near Sedona and his drone did a barrel roll without permission. Lucky he packed a spare set of rotors cause the first set ended up as some kind of weird trophy for a cactus. Still, beats fishing it out of a lake I guess.
