Went back to Pompeii, the graffiti room got me heated

Went back to Pompeii after 8 years and the House of the Vettii now has these metal walkways that block half the room. I get protecting the floors, but they built a viewing platform right where the best mosaic angles used to be. Anyone else feel like modern site management is chasing tourists away from what made these places worth visiting in the first place?

Guessing they figured the walkway was safer than letting me trip over my own feet and faceplant into a 2000 year old mosaic. Last time I was there I nearly knocked over a column trying to get a photo of my cat back home, so maybe the viewing platform is for people like me who can't handle nice things. Still, I feel your pain. It's like watching your favorite band from the nosebleed seats when you used to be on the rail.
