Dropped $80 on the Arlington County fairgrounds parking pass and it was the best money I ever spent
Everyone told me to just park on the street near the fairgrounds and walk in, but after getting stuck in that mess on Route 50 two years back I said never again. So last month I paid $80 for the official parking pass and it was the smartest move I made all summer. I rolled in at 6pm on a Saturday, parked in the lot right by the gate, and was inside eating a corn dog in under five minutes while I watched a line of cars circle the block for 30 minutes looking for a spot. The pass works for all five days of the fair, which I didn't even realize when I bought it, so I went back three times and never paid again. My buddy kept saying it was a waste and he'd just take the bus, but he ended up waiting 40 minutes for a ride home because the buses were packed. For 80 bucks I saved myself at least three hours of stress and a couple of arguments with my wife about directions. Anyone else think the official parking is actually worth it, or am I just getting old and soft?
