Watch out for the $18 parking trap at the garage near Clarendon Blvd, it cost me a tow and a headache
Ngl I parked in that garage next to the Clarendon Metro stop last Thursday around 6pm for what I thought was a quick dinner run, and the sign said $18 max but did not say anything about validation or a 2 hour limit. I came back at 8:15 and my car was gone, just an empty spot and a tiny number on a laminated card zip tied to the pole. I called the number and the guy told me they towed it to a lot off Columbia Pike and it would be $185 cash to get it back, no card. I grabbed an Uber over there, waited 40 minutes in a sketchy lot, and paid the guy out of my own wallet while he just stared at me. The signs in that garage are small and half of them face the wrong way when you pull in, so unless you already know the rules you are basically rolling the dice. Tbh I am done parking anywhere downtown without reading every single sign twice and taking a pic of my spot. Has anyone else gotten got by that specific garage, or is there a better lot near Clarendon I should be using instead?
