I finally found a 1998 newspaper article by searching the archive's own URL pattern instead of google
Spent 2 hours trying to find a story about my dad's old shop in Fresno and google kept giving me nothing but junk. Turned out the paper's archive used a simple date in the web address, so I just typed it in by hand and there it was on page 3, has anyone else had luck digging through old site structures like that?
Man, that is such a good feeling when you finally crack it after sitting there for hours. Google is useless for old local papers, it just buries everything under whatever SEO garbage sites paid to be on top. Something about typing in the URL by hand and guessing the pattern is old-school detective work and it honestly works more often than people realize. Glad you found the bit about your dad's shop, page 3 no less.
