Rant: my saved search on Facebook Marketplace died and I'm torn on whether I should've used an alert tool instead
Last Thursday my saved search for a used table saw in Cleveland just stopped sending me new listings, and I only found out after missing a $150 Rockwell that sold in 20 minutes. I had been fine checking the app by hand every morning for months, but the second I relied on the notification doing the work, it went quiet on me. Side one says that's the lesson, never trust a platform's own alerts and just do the dumb manual check. Side two says I should've been running a third party watcher or an RSS feed on the search URL the whole time. Which camp are you in, and does anyone have an RSS trick that still works on Marketplace in 2024?
