Showerthought: a guy at the parts counter said "just use the site's own search" and now I feel dumb for skipping it
I was at the counter at a parts spot in Baton Rouge picking up a relay, and the guy behind me said he found a discontinued part in about 2 minutes by going straight to the site's own search bar instead of Google. I tried it later for a discontinued blower motor and it pulled up the exact SKU in the second result, no forum digging, no old Reddit threads. Google gave me 8 pages of junk and one Amazon listing marked unavailable, so he was right. Since then I've been going site first, then Google, and it's saved me at least 3 hours in a week. Anyone got a rule for when site search beats Google, or am I the last one to figure this out?
