That one Reddit user who taught me the archive.org trick for dead forums

I was chasing an old recipe from a baking forum that shut down back in 2011, and Google kept giving me nothing but error pages. Random user on a cooking sub told me to paste the forum URL into the Wayback Machine and then use their site search within the capture. Found the exact thread in about 10 minutes, complete with the user's notes on altitude adjustments. Has anyone else had luck pulling deleted forum threads with that method, or do you have a better workaround for when even the archives miss stuff?
