Warning: I paid $12 for a tiny packet of county land records and it beat every map site I own
I kept striking out looking for who owns the empty lot behind my place in Boise, so on a whim I paid $12 at the county recorder's office for a printed parcel history. That little stack of pages had the owner's name, every sale date since the 70s, and a hand drawn sketch of the lot lines that no online map showed me. Turns out the guy lives two towns over and bought it in 1998, and I found his number in 20 minutes flat. Now I'm wondering how many other local records are sitting behind a $10 to $15 copy fee at city offices instead of a search box. Has anyone else gone this deep on paper records and found something the web never had?
