Debate: Should you vacuum your records before every play? My Wilco vinyl got chewed up at a house party last summer.

I was at a friend's place in Austin last July. Someone dropped the needle on my 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' without dusting it first. Sounded like gravel. Now I wipe every record before playing. But some collectors swear cleaning wears out the grooves faster. What's your take? Do you pre-clean or risk it?

Precleaning just grinds microdust deeper into the grooves each time.
