My heat gun melted a van door in 4 seconds, here's the fix
I was stripping paint off a 1997 Ford Econoline in my driveway in Phoenix last July and forgot to check the temperature dial, it was set to 1100 degrees and the whole door panel bubbled up like a marshmallow, but I sanded it down, hit it with a $15 can of rustoleum, and now it's my favorite beater, anyone else ever nuke a project with a tool set too hot?

Man, that's brutal. I've absolutely done stuff like that, not with a heat gun but I left a torch on a copper pipe once and melted the damn paint off a wall, so I feel your pain. Phoenix in July makes everything worse too, that metal was probably already hot enough to fry an egg before you even started. Honestly, the fact that you got it sanded and painted and it's still running is a win in my book. A little bubble and some rustoleum beats paying someone else to do it, that's for sure. Glad you didn't torch the whole van, that could've been way worse than a door skin.
