The day a judge told me my handwriting analysis was 'too artistic'

I do forensic handwriting comparison as a side gig, and for 5 years I leaned hard into the flourishes and quirks of each writer's style. Then a small claims judge in Akron threw out my report because I called a signature 'playful' instead of just describing the stroke angles. Now I stick to the mechanical stuff like pen pressure and letter spacing, and I feel like I lost some creativity, but my admissibility rate went from about 3 out of 5 to 9 out of 10. Anyone else have to strip the personality out of their niche to be taken seriously?

Do the judges actually say what's wrong, or just that it's too pretty?
